This week's assignment is to read Hebrews Chapter 1

Teaching Outline: The Book of Hebrews - Overview
The Book of Hebrews presents Jesus Christ as the supreme revelation of God. It encourages believers to persevere in their faith and shows that Christ is superior to angels, Moses, the priesthood, and the old covenant.
Purpose
To strengthen believers’ faith, especially Jewish Christians, by showing that Jesus fulfills the Old Testament and is the mediator of a better covenant based on grace and truth.

  • The Fulfillment of the Old Covenant — Christ’s sacrifice completes and surpasses the old system.

Outline of Hebrews
1. The Supremacy of Christ (Hebrews 1–2)
Christ is superior to angels. He is the Son through whom God speaks and the Savior who became man to bring salvation.
2. Christ Greater Than Moses (Hebrews 3–4)
Jesus is greater than Moses and brings a better rest to God’s people—spiritual rest through faith.
3. The Great High Priest (Hebrews 5–7)
Christ is our compassionate and eternal High Priest, appointed by God, and superior to the Levitical priesthood.
4. The New Covenant (Hebrews 8–10)
Jesus mediates a better covenant through His once-for-all sacrifice, giving believers direct access to God.
5. The Call to Persevere in Faith (Hebrews 11–12)
The “Hall of Faith” celebrates past heroes who trusted God. Believers are urged to run with endurance, fixing their eyes on Jesus.
6. Final Exhortations and Benediction (Hebrews 13)
Practical teaching on Christian living, hospitality, leadership, and a final blessing to the community.
