I. Introduction to Romans 15
A. Unity Through Bearing Burdens (Romans 15:1–7)
- Context: Paul’s concluding exhortations to the Roman church, focusing on unity amid Jewish and Gentile believers.
- Key Themes: Mutual edification, Christ-centered endurance, and the global scope of God’s promises.
A. Unity Through Bearing Burdens (Romans 15:1–7)
- The Call to Selflessness
- Strong believers should bear the weaknesses of others (v. 1).
- Christ’s example: Pleasing others, not Himself (v. 3; Psalm 69:9).
- Purpose of Scripture
- Scripture provides endurance and encouragement (v. 4).
- Prayer for Unity
- May God grant harmony to glorify Him (v. 6).
- Fulfillment of Promises
- Jesus became a servant to Jews (v. 8) and Gentiles (v. 9–12).
